Maharashtra State Monsoon Report As on 8th July 2019

Morning Post:
For the last many days, Maharashtra state has been receiving good amounts of rain(especially Konkan & Goa and Madhya-Maharashtra are receiving hefty rains). The reason for such ongoing good rains is that there lie multiple weather systems in close vicinity of the state. First, one being the active offshore trough, 2nd UAC over the South Gujarat region and adjoining areas. Also, strong south-westerlies are prevailing over the Konkan coast. Due to the combined effect of these systems Konkan region and adjoining the Madhya-Maharashtra region is receiving hefty rains.

The Maharashtra state receives about 292.2mm of rain from 1st June 2019 to 8th July 2019, but this monsoon season till now the state has received about 282.9 mm of rain which comes under the normal category. The reason for such recovery is due to continuous rains for the last many days.

Next 3 Days Weather Forecast:

Konkan & Goa: Heavy to very heavy rainfall possible at many places right from Raigad to goa the south Konkan and Goa region. North Konkan may receive isolated heavy spells till Wednesday after that rains will start reducing and only light to moderate rains are foreseen.

Marathawada: Mostly dry weather with isolated places witnessing light rains.

Vidarbha: moderate rains likely at isolated places while few places receiving light rains.

Madhya Maharashtra: Light to moderate rains to stay for the next 2 days over the region with comfortable weather conditions.
