India:

Snowfall: Due to the intensification of mid-latitude westerlies and lower level easterlies coming from the Bay of Bengal the Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim likely to observe light snowfall.

Rain: Due to the intensification of mid-latitude westerlies and lower level easterlies coming from the Bay of Bengal, the Bihar, East U.P, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Coastal Odisha are very likely to witness light to moderate rain, Coastal Odisha might receive heavy rainfall at isolated places during the early morning hours, Northeast India is very likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated places and light rainfall at many places due to above-mentioned reason.

Temperature: No significant change in the minimum temperature of the country.

Wind: Gusty winds up to 30-40 kmph is very likely during the thunderstorm activity over the isolated places of the Bihar, East U.P, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Coastal Odisha,

Fog: Shallow to moderate fog likely at isolated places in east India, West Coast, and U.P.

Cold-Wave Conditions: Nil.

Thunderstorm:  Due to the intensification of mid-latitude westerlies and lower level easterlies coming from the Bay of Bengal, the Bihar, East U.P, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Coastal Odisha are very likely to witness light to moderate thunderstorms at few places and severe thunderstorms at isolated places. Entire Northeast India is very likely to observe light to moderate thunderstorms.


Lowest Minimum & Highest Maximum Temperature Recorded Yesterday:

  • The lowest minimum temperature of 9.0 C was recorded at Karnal in Haryana over the plains of the country.
  • The highest maximum temperature of 37.0 C was recorded at Malegaon in Madhya Maharastra.

Meteorological Analysis by IMD (Based on 5:30 hours IST):

  • The cyclonic circulation over West Uttar Pradesh & neighborhood at 3.1 km above mean sea level persists.
  • The cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh & neighbourhood extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.
  • The cyclonic circulation over south Chhattisgarh & neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.
  • The cyclonic circulation over southwest Madhya Pradesh & neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.
  • The cyclonic circulation over east Bangladesh & neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.
  • A fresh active Western Disturbance likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from 27th February. Under its influence, an induced cyclonic circulation is likely to form over West Rajasthan & neighbourhood on 28th February.
