India:

Snowfall: Due to the approaching Western Disturbance from the west the union territories Jammu & Kashmir, as well as higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh, are very likely to observe light to moderate snowfall at many places with heavy snowfall at isolated places. The Uttrakhand state will remain dry.

Rain: Due to the strong easterlies approaching from the Bay of Bengal which is bringing moisture along with them will be responsible for light rainfall over the coastal TamilNadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh. The remaining regions of the country are very likely to remain dry.

Temperature: The minimum temperature of northwest India is very likely to rise by a couple of degrees, the reason for such rise is due to approaching W.D, Due to which south-easterly winds will replace the northwesterly winds causing a rise in minimum temperature. The minimum temperature of central India will rise tomorrow. No significant change in the temperature of the rest of the country.

Wind: Strong winds (45-55 kmph) are likely to be seen over the Gulf of Mannar, Comorin area, South-west, and  West-central Arabian sea. Light wind/breeze likely all over India.

Fog: Shallow to moderate fog likely at isolated places in northwest India, East, and Northeast India.

Cold-Wave Conditions: The state of Odisha and isolated parts of east Madhya Pradesh might witness cold wave conditions.

Thunderstorm: due to the Western Disturbance isolated places of Jammu & Kashmir might observe thunderstorms.

Meteorological Analysis by IMD (Based on 1730 hours IST):

  • The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over west Iran & neighborhood between 3.1 km & 7.6 km above mean sea level persists.
  • The other Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over Afghanistan & neighbourhood between 3.1 km & 3.6 km above mean sea level persists.
  • The cyclonic circulation over east Assam & neighborhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.
  • The cyclonic circulation over Coastal Karnataka & neighbourhood at 3.6 km above mean sea level persists.
