Delhi Weather: In the winter season, western disturbance dominates the weather of India. It gets formed in the Mediterranean region and moves eastward towards the Indian subcontinent. The interaction of WD with the Himalayas brings heavy rain/ snow in northwest India. WD is present in the mid to upper tropospheric level. Moderate to strong western disturbance generates circulations in lower levels of the atmosphere over Rajasthan, Punjab & Haryana. These circulations and associated troughs give rain to Delhi.
