The most awaited season of the country (The Southwest Monsoon Season) is just one and a half months away. The Monsoon season holds a significant role in the life of every Indian people. This is a season which gives about 75% of annual rainfall in just 4 months from June to September. Good monsoon brings cheers to India's economy, whereas the bad monsoon creates chaos. This Four-month-long monsoon season provides adequate water supply and also manages the agricultural activities throughout the year. Last year the monsoon proved every forecast wrong and gifted India with bumper 10% more rainfall than normal i.e 110%. Now let us take a tour through AccuWeather's Official Monsoon Forecast.


AccuWeather said that India's Monsoon 2020 will average near normal i.e (96 - 104%) of the Long-period Average(LPA), it will definitely bring happiness to the farmers of the country. It also mentioned that the monsoon will make a normal onset i.e on 1st June, compared to the last season when it had made an onset with 8 days of delay i.e on 8th June.

It stated that the monsoon will make an near-normal advancement into the entire country.
First, the heavy rains will begin in the south-western part of the country and then gradually move north and eastern India. It also mentioned that few parts of the country might see dry spells during the early season. The regions are northeast India, Goa, northwest Karnataka, and southwest Maharashtra.

It mentioned that the states like Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and parts of Uttar-Pradesh will receive above-normal rainfall. Konkan-Goa, Odisha, South West Bengal, and North Andhra Pradesh will receive below normal rains.

It also said that its late-season forecast could be derailed due to factors such as La-Nina and the Indian Ocean Dipole(IOD) and we know what IOD did to the last year Monsoon. If La-Nina comes out it could be beneficial for the Monsoon.
