India:

Snowfall: Light snowfall likely at isolated places of Arunachal Pradesh.

Rain: Light rain/drizzle very likely in northern parts of northeast India.

Temperature: The minimum temperature of northwest India & West India is very likely to fall by a couple of degrees, the reason for such fall is due to the continuous flow of northwesterly cold winds. No significant change in the temperature of the rest of the country.

Wind: Strong winds (20-30 kmph) are likely to be seen over the plains of northwestern India.

Fog: Dense fog likely at isolated places in coastal Odisha.

Cold-Wave Conditions: Nil

Thunderstorm: Nil

Lowest Minimum & Highest Maximum Temperature Recorded Today:

• The lowest minimum temperature of 7.8 C was recorded at Betul in west Madhya Pradesh over the plains of the country.
• The highest maximum temperature of 37.7 C was recorded at Vengurla in Konkan.

Meteorological Analysis by IMD (Based on 1730 hours IST):

• The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir at 3.1 km above mean sea level persists. However, the trough aloft with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level now runs roughly along Long. 78°E to the north of Lat. 35°N.
• The cyclonic circulation over northern parts of Bangladesh and neighborhood between 1.5 & 2.1 km above mean sea level persists.
• A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from 18th February onwards.
