Southwest monsoon finally reached the southern parts of Maharashtra state yesterday with a delay of almost 12-13 days. Due to a delay in the onset of southwest monsoon in Maharashtra Currently, the state is running large rain deficient. From 1st June to 20th June 2019 Maharashtra state has received only 36.5 mm of rains against the normal of around 115.1mm making it large rain deficient up to -68%. But the good news is in store for Maharashtra state has heavy rains will be visiting the state soon, According to the weatherman low-pressure area has formed in the north bay of Bengal off Odisha coast which will be traveling inland soon. Due to this system, heavy rains will be seen in Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, and Konkan-goa. Vidharba will see light to moderate rains.

According to IMD. The northern limit of monsoon Passes through Ratnagiri and Kolhapur of Maharashtra state.
